The Twizzler

Well over a decade ago, I used to write on 100words.com, under the pen name "Quanita". It required that I write 100 words - no more, no less - every day, for a month. At the end of the month, if I had completed 100 words each day, it was published on the site.

Over the years, to my surprise, I gained a few followers. One gentleman I nicknamed "The Twizzler". Because his appendage was long, nearly as thick as my middle finger, and twisted like a pink licorice Twizzler. His real name was Frank.

Unbeknownst to me, he died a few years back.

As I recall, in our last conversation he said, "God/dess when are you going to write your book, you know I'm your biggest fan..." (Isn't it fascinating what we remember, especially those last interactions with those we care for, once they die?)

I sense him around every now and then. I miss him.

I know he will be reading every word I write. And so, I shall....
